Cargo and baggage (cargo-luggage)

Voluntary insurance of cargoes and luggage (cargo-luggage) carried out under the terms of an insurer.

All transport operations, which relate to the implementation of cargo related to possible material costs, such as damage, destruction or loss of cargo as a result of different circumstances.

The insurance contract may be concluded on the terms and conditions:

1) "With liability for all risks", according to the clauses of the Institute of London Underwriters (Lloyd) "class A", including that It comprises:

  • Losses from damage and complete destruction of all or part of the insured cargo had happened for any reason (other than the reasons listed in the exceptions);
  • Damages, costs and contributions in general average.

2) "limited liability company", according to the clauses of the Institute of London Underwriters (Lloyd) "Class B".

According to the agreement, non-refundable loss or damage to complete destruction of all or part of the insured cargo as a result or because (except for the reasons listed in the exceptions):

  • fire or explosion;
  • grounding, stranding, sinking or capsizing of the vessel, lighter or barge;
  • collision or contact vessel, lighter or barge or any other vehicle with any external object other than water;
  • état or the convergence of ways to ground means of transportation;
  • unloading of cargo at the port where the disaster happened;
  • earthquake, volcanic eruption or lightning;
  • wash load ejection wave or cargo overboard to save the ship;
  • penetration of sea, lake or river water into vessel, lighter or barge, other means of transport, container or storage;
  • the complete destruction of the whole cargo space during loading or unloading;
  • losses, costs and contributions in general average.

3) "minimum cover" under clause Institute of London Underwriters (Lloyd), "Class C"

According to the agreement, non-refundable loss or damage to complete destruction of all or part of the insured cargo as a result of, or reason (other than the reasons listed in the exceptions):

  • fire or explosion;
  • grounding, stranding, sinking or capsizing of the vessel, lighter or barge;
  • collision or contact vessel, lighter or barge or any other vehicle with any external object other than water;
  • unloading of cargo at the port where the disaster happened;
  • ejection deck cargo overboard to save the ship;
  • damages, costs and contributions in general average.

 

If necessary, insurance coverage may be included:

  • war and strike risks (for sea and air transport);
  • theft of cargo by third parties, by means of fraud, in particular when they are operating under the name of other persons and (or) for forged documents;
  • the risks of destruction and damage of cargo during loading and unloading;
  • Risks save at intermediate warehouses in transit.

The insurance cover is valid from the date of acceptance of the cargo carrier and continues throughout transport to the destination.

Insurance coverage is provided in all countries of the world (except for hazardous areas) at any mode of transport.

The insurance amount is determined by mutual agreement of the parties within the actual value of the goods at the time of concluding the insurance contract or with its excess, according to the terms of the consignment. But within these limits cover the costs of the transportation, packaging, customs clearance (if any) and expenses of the Insured to reduce losses on insured event.
